  1. Pranayama : What is it and why you do it?
    To Understand the importance of Pranayama as a practice, we will explore the philosophical and textual background of pranayama, making reference to yogic text such as Patanjali Yoga Sutra and the Hatha Pradipika
  2. Kriyas : The importance of yogic cleansing practices
    Kriya is a series of cleasing practices which prepares the body for the practice of pranayama. Through reguler practice of kriya, the body will be slowly purified and the energetic channels are cleansed, allowing the energy (prana) to flow freely.
  3. Yogic Breathing : The blue print of pranayama breathing
    Yogic breathing is different from normal breathing Through and exploration of these refined breathing technique, you will cultivate and learn how to control your breathing using a combination of prolonged inhalation, exhalation and bandhas. These techniques will then be used in all pranayama practices that follows.
  4. Pranayama : theory and practice
    We will explore the various kind of classical pranayama, its technique and benefit to the body.
  5. Chanting and Meditation
    Pranayama on its own is a meditative practice which helps us to control the fluctuation of the mind. We will also explore other meditative practices such as Pranava Japa, mantra recitation, chanting and tratak.

07.30 – 10.00 Morning Lecture
10.00 – 11.30 Asanas Practice to support Pranayama
12.00 – 14.00 Light Lunch Break
14.00 – 18.00 Lecture and Pranayama Practice

Please bring your own comfortable cushion for sitting and / or blanket which can be used as cushioning to ease the long sitting hours during practice

NO FOOD at least 4 hours before practice. Water, juice, herbal tea, milk, honey is OK. Coffee and chocolate drink are not recommended.
